Jesus Sat Down. Matthew 5:1
Matthew 5:1. Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down.
Jesus sat down. He intended to stay for a while. He sat down after he saw the crowds. Their needs, expectations, and problems didn't make him want to run. No. He sat down. He intended to stay. And his disciples came. They moved to him. The people were drawn to him. And he sat as they came. The gathered. They listened. He spoke. He stayed.
Only our Savior would see us as we are and compassionately draw us.
He is moved by our condition, by our weakness, by our need.
Moved to stay.
Lord, teach us to sit at your feet. Teach me to stay where you are. Let me see people as you see them. Thank you for drawing me into your presence.
